Meet Dr. Sean P. Meyer

Dr. Sean P. Meyer is a seasoned mental health counselor and vocational and disability consultant known for his expertise in supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges and disability-related issues. With a strong background in counseling, he focuses on helping clients achieve their personal and professional goals while fostering resilience and empowerment. His integrative approach combines therapeutic techniques with practical resources, enabling clients to enhance their well-being and pursue fulfilling careers. Dr. Meyer is dedicated to advocating for mental health awareness and promoting inclusivity in the workplace.

Dr. Meyer's Story

Dr. Meyer's journey to becoming a mental health counselor and vocational and disability consultant began with a profound interest in psychology and a desire to help others navigate their challenges. He purposed relevant degrees, gaining foundational knowledge in disability topics, psychology, and counseling theories. Gaining practical experience through experential fieldwork solidified his commitment to the field, allowing him to develop essential skills of empathy, active listening, and assessment. Further, specialized training in vocational rehabilitation and disability-centric topics equipped him with the expertise needed to support individuals in their personal and professional lives, by providing him with the skills necessary to help guide individuals with disabilities to achieve greater independence through meaningful employment. His dedication to promoting mental wellness, independence, and empowerment shaped a distinct path in his rewarding career.

Prior to this, and professionally, Dr. Meyer served and eventually retired as a senior non-commissioned officer from a distinguished career in the United States Air Force. Since his retirement, he has worked as a clinician in many different behavioral health settings ranging from community behavioral health to on-site employee assistance programs. His clinical interests are disability-centric topics, sexual and gender minority topics (LGBTQ+), and helping his clients to overcome the often debilitating symptoms of depression and anxiety.
